About
Kyuden International Corporation is the overseas business arm and wholly owned subsidiary of Kyushu Electric Power Company, focusing on electricity‑centered energy solutions outside Japan. Established in 1999 and headquartered in Fukuoka with offices in Tokyo, Thailand, Dubai, New York and London, it leverages more than 70 years of Kyushu Electric Power’s technical expertise to develop, own and operate overseas energy assets and to provide consulting services. The company acts as the driving force for the Kyuden Group’s international activities, helping electric power companies plan, develop, construct and manage operations through IPP investment, transmission and distribution services, and advisory work on planning, preliminary surveys and efficiency improvements.
Kyuden International develops projects and services across Asia, North America, Latin America, the Middle East, Africa and Europe. Its consulting references include strengthening operation and maintenance at Kenya’s Olkaria geothermal power stations using IoT-based data management; EPC and O&M support for a solar PV and battery energy storage system on Ebeye Island in the Marshall Islands; and leading a hybrid power generation project in Cabo Verde to increase renewable penetration. As an investor, it backs overseas renewable and infrastructure platforms such as on‑site solar providers, microgrid developers and satellite‑based infrastructure monitoring company LiveEO, with which it is co-developing satellite data applications for asset management. The company is a partner in large-scale solar and battery storage projects in Egypt and has expanded into U.S. renewable generation, battery storage and power plant O&M, including acquiring IHI Power Services Corp. Kyuden International targets 5,000 MW of equity ownership in overseas electricity output by 2030 and positions its activities to support low‑carbon and decarbonization pathways in each host country, in line with the Kyuden Group’s carbon-neutral vision.
