Balfour Beatty is an international infrastructure group headquartered in London, England, and listed on the London Stock Exchange under the ticker BBY. Founded in 1909, it finances, develops, builds, maintains and operates complex and critical infrastructure across the UK, US and Hong Kong, with around 27,000 employees globally. The Group reports through three segments: Construction Services, Support Services and Infrastructure Investments. Construction Services covers civil engineering, building, ground engineering, mechanical and electrical engineering, refurbishment, fit‑out and rail engineering, while Support Services focuses principally in the UK on designing, upgrading, managing and maintaining electricity networks, rail and highways. In the UK Balfour Beatty is active across transportation, energy transition and security, and social infrastructure, supported by specialist brands including Balfour Beatty Investments, Balfour Beatty Kilpatrick, Balfour Beatty Ground Engineering, Balfour Beatty Homes, Balfour Beatty Living Places, Balvac, Painter Brothers and BPH. In the US, its civil and vertical construction business delivers buildings, highways, rail and water projects and works extensively through public‑private partnerships via Balfour Beatty Investments, Balfour Beatty Communities and Balfour Beatty Campus Solutions. In Hong Kong, its 50:50 joint venture Gammon undertakes civil, building and foundations works and provides significant fabrication and digital capabilities. The Group is heavily involved in major UK schemes such as High Speed 2, Hinkley Point C and the Thames Tideway Tunnel, and in 2024 reported £10.0 billion of revenue and an £18.4 billion order book.
