CG Power and Industrial Solutions Limited (CG Power) is an electrical engineering company that provides products, systems and services for power and industrial applications. Headquartered in Mumbai, India, it was incorporated in 1937 as Crompton Parkinson Works Private Ltd, renamed Crompton Greaves Limited in 1966 and adopted its current name in 2017 following the demerger of its consumer products business. In November 2020 it became a subsidiary of Tube Investments of India Limited within the Murugappa Group. The company operates primarily as a B2B supplier with manufacturing units across Maharashtra, Goa and Madhya Pradesh and additional facilities at nine locations in India and one in Sweden, serving customers in India and more than 80 global markets.
CG Power’s operations are organized around Power Systems, Industrial Systems, Railways and Semiconductors, with a small Others segment. The Power business focuses on power transmission, distribution and integrated power systems, manufacturing generator, distribution, solar, green, unit auxiliary, furnace, cast resin, locomotive and trackside transformers, shunt reactors, EHV and MV circuit breakers, switchgear, instrument transformers, lightning and surge arresters, isolators, vacuum interrupters, compact substations and protection and automation equipment. It also executes turnkey transmission and distribution and substation EPC projects. The Industrial business produces high-, medium- and low-voltage and fractional horsepower motors, DC motors, AC generators, drives and automation products, variable frequency drives, soft starters, shaft power monitors, rotary heat exchangers, domestic and commercial pumps and fans, and water heaters, and provides services for industrial systems. The Railways business supplies traction machines and electronics, propulsion systems and signalling equipment, while the Semiconductors segment undertakes outsourced semiconductor assembly and test and radio-frequency activities. CG Power serves utilities, railways, data centers, process industries, infrastructure and renewable power sectors including solar, floating solar, wind and hydro. In FY 2023–24 it reported consolidated revenue of about INR 8,046 crores and employed roughly 3,100–3,400 people.
