Gallagher Group Limited is a family-owned construction, civil engineering and materials business headquartered in Aylesford, Kent. Founded in 1973 by Pat Gallagher as a one‑man groundworks operation, the company has grown into one of Kent’s largest family-run businesses, with turnover in excess of £150 million and more than 500 employees. The group has evolved from its origins in civil engineering and groundworks into a diversified portfolio spanning building and foundations, civil engineering, plant and transport, construction materials, property development, landfill and restoration, and farm and estate management. Gallagher operates quarries and concrete facilities in Kent, including Hermitage Quarry and Blaise Farm Quarry, and concrete plants in Maidstone, Ashford and Tunbridge Wells. Through Gallagher Aggregates, the group is the only indigenous crushed rock producer in the South East of England, supplying primary and recycled construction aggregates, Kentish Ragstone building stone, ready‑mix concrete, flowing screeds, hardcore, sands and general fills from its two Kent-based quarries and six concrete plants. Its construction arm delivers groundworks and civil engineering projects across the region and has been involved in a wide range of developments, including commercial depots, business parks, schools, a football stadium, a medical institute, office parks, park regeneration schemes and transport infrastructure such as the Eureka Skyway footbridge.
