On 29 April 2026 Ocean Winds completed the construction works of the Iles d'Yeu and Noirmoutier (EMYN) offshore wind farm and marked the transition into the project's full operational phase, after the 61st and final Siemens Gamesa SWT-8.0-167 turbine was installed offshore by Jan De Nul's jack-up vessel Vole au Vent. The 500 MW project, located 11.7 km off Yeu and 16.5 km off Noirmoutier on the French Atlantic coast, is operated by Eoliennes en Mer Iles d'Yeu et de Noirmoutier (EMYN, owned by Ocean Winds and Sumitomo Corporation) and produces enough renewable electricity to cover the annual consumption of approximately 800,000 people. The offshore substation was formally inaugurated on 2 May 2026 by ENGIE CEO Catherine MacGregor in the presence of French Ministers Bruno Lemaire and Roland Lescure. First power was achieved on 4 June 2025; turbines were brought online progressively as installation campaigns advanced through 2025-2026.
