On 10 October 2014, the Scottish Ministers granted consents under section 36 of the Electricity Act 1989 to construct and operate an offshore generating station known as the Seagreen Project, comprising the Seagreen Alpha Offshore Wind Farm and Seagreen Bravo Offshore Wind Farm in the outer Firth of Forth. The original s36 consents authorised up to 150 turbines across the Alpha and Bravo wind farm areas. Phase 1 of the project subsequently delivered 114 of these turbines, leaving the remaining 36 originally-consented turbines to be built out under the Seagreen 1A development. The 2014 s36 is therefore the project-wide development consent under which Seagreen 1A's turbines are authorised; the project does not require a separate Section 36 grant.
