In summer 2021, Jan De Nul carried out offshore site preparation at the Saint-Nazaire wind farm by using its cutter suction dredger Fernão de Magalhães to fragment and smooth the rocky seabed at the Banc de Guérande so that the jack-up vessel Vole au vent could safely jack up for turbine installation. These preparatory rock-fragmenting operations were required because many turbine locations lay on uneven rocky ground.
