EDS, part of James Fisher Renewables, was awarded a contract by Ailes Marines (Iberdrola’s Saint-Brieuc Offshore Wind Farm SPV) to deliver high-voltage (HV) safety management for the commissioning phase of the Saint-Brieuc offshore wind farm in Brittany, northern France. The scope focused on ensuring HV safety governance and control as the project progressed through late-stage build and energisation activities. Under the contract, EDS managed all aspects of HV safety throughout the construction period, including implementing and overseeing the HV safety management system and associated control functions required for safe commissioning. A key part of the assignment was to oversee electrical safety arrangements for all contractors visiting and working on the site, ensuring consistent compliance with HV safety procedures and rules across multiple parties. EDS delivered the service using its own specialist team and supplemented this with local personnel brought in to support the project’s HV safety control function. The work was scheduled to start as commissioning began in Q4 2021 and was expected to ramp up through 2022, supporting the project’s pathway toward full operational status.
