For the Saint-Brieuc offshore wind farm, Iberdrola reports that the offshore marine substation (including its foundation and topside) was successfully completed in July 2022. The structure was manufactured in Belgium by a joint venture between Smulders, a subsidiary of Eiffage Métal, and Equans. Smulders was responsible for the engineering and construction of both the jacket foundation and the platform that houses the transformers and other electrical equipment, while Equans performed the assembly and commissioning activities. The supporting jacket is 63 metres high and weighs about 1,630 tonnes, and the topside platform is approximately 55 metres long, 31 metres wide and 23 metres high, weighing around 3,400 tonnes. This milestone marked the completion of fabrication and factory-level commissioning of the offshore substation for Saint-Brieuc.
