On 28 May 2024, Iberdrola, through its subsidiary Ailes Marines, announced the full commissioning of the 496 MW Saint-Brieuc offshore wind farm in the Bay of Saint-Brieuc, confirming that all 62 Siemens Gamesa 8 MW turbines were operational and that the entire production was feeding into the French national grid managed by RTE. The project thereby became the second fully operational offshore wind farm in France and the first in Brittany, expected to generate about 1,820 GWh per year—around 9% of Brittany’s electricity consumption—following a €2.4 billion investment fully financed by Iberdrola.
