On 28 March 2017, the Ministre de l'Environnement signed an arrêté interministériel (reference DEVR1709832A) declaring as a Déclaration d'utilité publique (DUP) the works for the creation of an electrical connection — two 225,000 V cables — between the offshore delivery station of Ailes Marines in the Bay of Saint-Brieuc and the RTE Doberie 225 kV substation in Hénansal (Côtes-d'Armor). The corridor is approximately 33 km submarine plus 16 km underground. As an interministerial DUP under the Code de l'expropriation pour cause d'utilité publique, this is the project-wide consent for the RTE onshore export corridor of Saint-Brieuc — the higher-level act preceding the local préfectoral DUP (Arrêté préfectoral n°1 of 18 April 2017) which implements it locally. Per the tightened schema, the DUP for an RTE onshore corridor of an OWF grid connection is project-wide for that segment.</description> </invoke>
