Replacement of an inter-array cable; turnkey termination, testing and cable pull-in services (IAC).
Correll Group was contracted by Jan De Nul to replace an inter-array cable at the Prinses Amalia offshore wind farm (Princess Amalia/Prinses Amaliawindpark) in the Dutch North Sea. The scope was delivered as a turnkey package focused on the in-field (inter-turbine) cable interface works rather than full cable laying, using Correll’s termination, testing and cable pull-in capabilities to support the cable replacement campaign at the operational wind farm. The contract included mobilisation of specialist personnel and tooling to execute cable pull-in operations and carry out termination and testing activities to reinstate the inter-array cable connection. This type of scope typically covers preparation and execution offshore, handling and pulling cables into the relevant J-tube/hang-off arrangement, completing electrical terminations, performing electrical test and commissioning checks, and providing associated reporting and quality documentation to the main contractor. The work was reported in the context of a “cable switch”/replacement activity at the wind farm, indicating an operational-phase intervention to maintain or restore array system performance. The cited case study material also links the same customer relationship (Jan De Nul) with inter-array cable pull-in, termination and testing activities at Princes/Prinses Amalia over the 2021/22 period.
