Princess Amalia Wind Farm (Prinses Amaliawindpark) entered full commercial operation on 4 June 2008, when the 120 MW offshore project was officially opened after all 60 Vestas V80 turbines had been installed and made ready for operation. From this date, the wind farm offshore of IJmuiden began regular power production for the Dutch grid at its intended capacity.
