Jan De Nul Group, leading the TM Edison consortium with DEME for Elia, reported in its 2025 Impact Report that during 2025 it completed construction of all 23 concrete caissons for the Princess Elisabeth Island energy island and placed 11 of them in their final offshore location off the Belgian coast. Each caisson measures approximately 58 m long and weighs around 22,000 tonnes. The remaining 12 caissons are scheduled for offshore placement in 2026 to complete the island's structural footprint, which will host the Modular Offshore Grid 2 (MOG II) HVAC and HVDC platforms.
