Heerema Marine Contractors' semi-submersible crane vessel Sleipnir installed three modules on the Equinor-operated Oseberg A concrete platform between 11 and 14 June 2025 as part of the Oseberg Gas Capacity Upgrade and Power from Shore (OGP) project. The modules — fabricated by Aibel at its Haugesund yard and including process equipment and living quarters supporting the partial electrification and new gas compression scheme — were loaded out near Stord on 11 June; Sleipnir then transited offshore and wrapped up the final lifts a few days later on 14 June. The campaign was executed using the vessel's single-crane lifts and dedicated crew coordination, completing the offshore module installation on schedule. The original 2021 Heerema contract anticipated a Sleipnir lift campaign in summer 2024; actual execution slipped by approximately one year, broadly consistent with the wider OGP delays driven by long transformer lead times following the 2023 Hitachi Vaasa factory fire. The installed modules form the offshore topside scope that will be commissioned with shore power once the onshore Kollsnes substation, the 132 km Nexans 132 kV AC subsea cable, and offshore electrical equipment are tied in and energised.
