MEWO, a Polish marine survey and environmental services company, is conducting the marine environment survey campaign for the Baltic West offshore wind project. The Baltic West cluster comprises four Phase II Odra Bank (Ławica Odrzańska) concessions, of which Orlen Neptun IV in area 14.E.4 is the largest single lot at approximately 1,204 MW and 150 km². The campaign was publicly confirmed by ORLEN Neptun on 6 May 2026. The scope covers comprehensive baseline environmental monitoring delivered with specialised survey vessels and an aircraft, spanning both the inanimate components of the marine environment and extensive monitoring of living organisms. Surveys target species critical to Baltic ecosystem functioning — fish, seabirds and migratory birds, marine mammals, and benthic organisms including molluscs, polychaetes and underwater vegetation. The work is delivered on a yearly cycle so that seasonal variability is captured and the baseline environmental state is documented across all four seasons. The data will underpin Environmental Impact Assessment work and the eventual environmental decision (DŚU) for Orlen Neptun IV and the other Baltic West licences. MEWO is part of the same Polish local-content supplier base ORLEN Neptun previously used on the more advanced Baltic East project, where it participated in the seabed-survey consortium completed in November 2025.
