For the Oléron 1 offshore wind project in the Sud-Atlantique area, a series of baseline environmental at-sea measurement campaigns (“Campagnes de mesures en mer pour l'état initial de l'environnement”) were conducted from October 2023 through December 2025. These offshore surveys established the initial state of the environment across the future wind farm and grid connection zones. Activities included sampling to assess water and sediment quality, video recording of benthic habitats using a towed camera and/or remotely operated vehicle (ROV), scientific fisheries surveys, underwater noise recordings, and visual and vessel-based observations of seabirds and marine mammals. Telemetry tracking of birds was also undertaken. The campaigns concluded by December 2025, completing the planned baseline environmental data collection phase for Oléron 1.
