On 2 April 2026 the French Ministry of Economy, Finance and Industrial and Digital Sovereignty issued a press release confirming that the AO9 and AO10 offshore wind tenders would be merged into a single ≈10 GW bundled procurement, and explicitly named Oléron 1 among the sites to be reopened in this merged round. The combined tender will be split approximately 5 GW fixed-bottom + 5 GW floating, sit at the core of France's wider 12 GW renewable energy tender programme, and results are expected by end-2026 or early 2027. For Oléron 1, this confirms that the AO7 failure (zero bids, 24 Sep 2025) does not cancel the site; it is rescheduled into the next competitive round with the grid connection preparatory works by RTE continuing in parallel.
