Vestas renewed its turbine O&M scope on Offshore Windpark Egmond aan Zee (OWEZ) under a full-service agreement announced on 9 April 2021 by NoordzeeWind, after Vestas won the competitive process for service solutions. The arrangement covers the 36 V90-3.0 MW turbines Vestas originally installed at OWEZ in 2006 and is intended to run through the later phase of the wind farm's lifecycle (since extended to 2031 following Google's PPA in May 2025). As described by Thorben Heuing, Head of After Sales Offshore at Vestas: "Vestas originally installed the V90-3.0 MW turbines at the Egmond aan Zee wind farm, serviced the project from 2006 to 2016, and has been working on Egmond aan Zee again since 2020." Under the 2021 contract, Vestas "will maintain service, providing turbine troubleshooting and replacement of components where necessary" under a full-service agreement, based out of Vestas's long-term hub in IJmuiden, which has the technical service expertise needed to service Egmond aan Zee through its lifetime. The arrangement is paired with OutSmart as independent operator handling day-to-day operations, asset availability, HSSE and regulatory compliance; together with Vestas they deliver the integrated O&M scope for OWEZ. This is distinct from Vestas's separate role as OEM turbine supplier at project build-out in 2006.
