OutSmart was selected by NoordzeeWind as the independent operator of Offshore Windpark Egmond aan Zee (OWEZ) under a strategic O&M partnership announced on 9 April 2021, shortly after Shell took 100% ownership of the JV in March 2021. The arrangement runs alongside Vestas's renewed turbine full-service agreement and is intended to optimise the 108 MW demonstration farm's performance through the later phase of its lifecycle (originally to 2027, since extended to 2031). Under the scope quoted by Managing Director Femmy Wervers, OutSmart "will do the day-to-day operations of this project. It is our responsibility to ensure HSSE, Legal & Regulatory compliance, smooth operation of the wind farm, reacting timely on failures and to ensure contract compliance and coordination with third parties." OutSmart's 24/7 operations team monitors the asset from its Operations Control Centre (OCC) in Emden, Germany, with operational asset management run from the OutSmart office in Arnhem, the Netherlands. The arrangement is a partition of the integrated asset O&M responsibility between an independent operator (OutSmart) overseeing day-to-day operations and asset availability, and a turbine OEM (Vestas) providing the deep-engineering full-service troubleshooting and component replacement. C-Ventus separately holds the Balance-of-Plant inspection and survey scope from June 2022.
