C-Ventus Offshore Windfarm Services BV was contracted by NoordzeeWind for Balance of Plant (BoP) inspection and survey services on the 108 MW Offshore Windpark Egmond aan Zee (OWEZ) offshore wind farm, announced on 30 June 2022. The five-year contract is set against C-Ventus's pre-existing relationship with the project — the company describes NoordzeeWind as its "launching customer" in the offshore wind O&M market, having provided BoP maintenance and additional services to NoordzeeWind since 2012. Under the five-year contract, C-Ventus's annual scope of work consists of above and below water inspections and seabed surveys covering the foundations, export cables and seabed assets of OWEZ. The scope includes innovations in the O&M market such as drone inspections and remote or autonomous surveys. The offshore operations were expected to start by the end of June 2022. The BoP scope is the non-turbine portion of the integrated O&M arrangement and runs alongside Vestas's turbine full-service agreement (re-awarded April 2021) and OutSmart's independent operator scope (also April 2021). The contract supports the asset's transition into the later phase of its lifecycle, with seabed and asset inspections forming part of the evidence base subsequently used in the 2025 technical and ecological case for extending the wind farm's operational life from 2027 to 2031.
