In May 2025, Shell NoordzeeWind received the necessary permits from the Dutch government to extend the operational life of the 108 MW Egmond aan Zee Offshore Wind Farm (OWEZ) from its original end date in 2027 to 2031. The life-extension decision followed a corporate Power Purchase Agreement with Google for the full 108 MW output and was granted after a technical and ecological compliance evaluation, allowing the wind farm to continue supplying renewable electricity to the Dutch grid for almost five additional years.
