Frontier Power International Limited's SENECA interconnector appears in the NESO Interconnector Register (12 May 2026 edition) holding the Mablethorpe 400 kV connection contract under reference PRO-000981, with 1,200 MW import and 1,254 MW export capacity and a target operations date of 30 November 2031. The host transmission owner is NGET and the project stage is recorded as Scoping. SENECA succeeds the NU-Link proposal that previously held this same connection contract — NU-Link Interconnector UK Ltd's electricity interconnector licence was revoked at the developer's request on 22 September 2025 after Ofgem rejected its application under the Third Cap and Floor Window in November 2024. The corporate continuity is established by the shared registered office (The American Barns, Lighthorne, Warwickshire) of NU-Link Interconnector UK Ltd and Frontier Power International Limited. Frontier Power has not yet published a dedicated SENECA project page; the partner country, transmission technology and route details are not independently confirmed for SENECA and the Netherlands endpoint shown on the project record is inherited from the predecessor NU-Link proposal.
