Commercial Operations Full Power

The NESO Interconnector Register (12 May 2026 edition) lists 30 November 2031 as the MW Effective From date for Frontier Power International Limited's SENECA interconnector at the Mablethorpe 400 kV connection point (NESO TEC PRO-000981). The register records 1,200 MW of import capacity and 1,254 MW of export capacity, with NGET as the host transmission owner. The 30 November 2031 date is the connection contract milestone at which the contracted capacity is expected to become deliverable to the NESO system; it represents the developer's earliest target subject to obtaining planning consents, securing financing through a future revenue mechanism (likely a renewed Ofgem cap and floor application), regulatory approvals at both ends of the interconnector, and successful procurement and construction of the cable system. The project is currently at Scoping stage in NESO's register and predates a publicly disclosed Frontier Power project page for SENECA.
