North Sea Link returned to full 1,400 MW operations on Tuesday 13 June 2023 after Statnett completed the repair of a technical fault at the plant in Suldal, Norway that had disrupted service since 8 June 2023. The fault was located in the rectifier system on the Norwegian side and required replacement of a component in the onshore facility. While the repair was being completed, the link operated at 700 MW (half capacity). Statnett announced the return-to-service the day before, on Monday 12 June 2023, confirming that full bidirectional transfer capability between Kvilldal (Norway) and Blyth (UK) had been restored.
