The Dutch Minister for Climate and Green Growth (KGG) and the Minister for Housing and Spatial Planning (VRO) have taken a new preparatory decision (voorbereidingsbesluit) for the offshore wind project Nederwiek (zuid) kavel I-B. This decision was published in the Staatscourant on 2 April 2026 and enters into force on 3 April 2026. The voorbereidingsbesluit is intended to prevent developments in the designated area that could hinder or make impossible the construction of the planned 1 GW wind farm until the formal kavelbesluit (plot decision) is published. Competent authorities must take this preparatory decision into account when assessing permit applications for construction or other works in the area. The 2026 besluit renews and replaces earlier preparatory decisions from 2023, 2024 and 2025 for the same project area.
