In January 2026, following the failure of the October 2025 Nederwiek I-A permit tender to draw any applications, the Minister of Climate Policy and Green Growth notified Parliament that the 2026 offshore wind subsidy slot would be reallocated to IJmuiden Ver Site Gamma-A rather than retendering Nederwiek I-A. The Minister cited PBL advice that the available EUR 3.978 billion subsidy budget was sufficient to support only one 1 GW site under the Temporary Support Mechanism Offshore Wind Energy, with applications for IJV Gamma-A planned to open in September 2026. The decision effectively deferred Nederwiek I-A's retender, with the Ministry indicating that a decision on a possible second 1 GW permit round, which could include Nederwiek I-A, would be taken later in 2026. The RVO confirmed the decision on its permit page.
