On 15 March 2022, the French government announced a 500 MW floating wind tender with two 250 MW projects off Narbonnaise and the Gulf of Fos, each with an option for a further 500 MW expansion, and, through a ministerial decision in March 2022, formally retained the La Narbonnaise zone in Occitanie for two floating wind farms: a 250 MW AO6 project and an approximately 500 MW AO9 extension later known as Narbonnaise 2.
