Supplier for Latvia and Estonia Hybrid Offshore interconnector [currently known as 'Elwind']
G-Tec NV, a Belgium-headquartered marine geosciences specialist, was awarded a geophysical survey and ground-model development contract worth slightly over EUR 3.6 million for the ELWIND offshore wind farm and associated fourth Estonia–Latvia hybrid interconnection. The scope covers the Estonian and Latvian ELWIND offshore wind farm areas and supports design and installation requirements for foundations, structures and cable burial. G-Tec's survey vessel Karina mobilised in early September 2025 and began acquiring seabed data — including bathymetry, side-scan sonar, sub-bottom profiling and magnetometry — to characterise site geology. The ITT scope runs from 15 August 2025 to 31 March 2027, with field data acquisition (initially planned ~2 months from September 2025) followed by integration with the geotechnical survey programme (planned for summer 2026) and delivery of an Integrated Ground Model. The Integrated Ground Model will serve as the basis for design of offshore foundations, structures and cable burial, supporting safe and efficient installation of the offshore wind farm. The contract was awarded by LIAA / Latvian Investment and Development Agency and EIC / Estonian Environmental Investment Centre as joint clients managing the cross-border procurement.
