Marine cable route survey from landing site to landing site
GEO.xyz BV, the Belgian offshore geoscience contractor headquartered in Zwevegem, was awarded a service contract for the marine cable route survey on the Konti-Skan Connect HVDC interconnector between Denmark and Sweden. The procurement was a joint negotiated procedure (Cat. 3) run under SQS 239894 by Energinet Eltransmission A/S as group leader together with Svenska kraftnät, with the contract concluded on 6 June 2025 at a value of EUR 5,775,477 excluding VAT — the lowest of three admissible tenders, which ranged from EUR 4.56 million to EUR 5.88 million. The scope covers geological, geophysical and geotechnical consultancy services for the marine portion of the cable route, from landing site to landing site, between the Danish point of connection at Vester Hassing on the east coast of Jutland and the Swedish point of connection at Lindome south of Gothenburg. The planned route crosses the Kattegat with a corridor running north of the Danish island of Læsø. The award is classified under CPV 71351200 (geological/geophysical consultancy) with additional CPV codes 71332000 (geotechnical engineering), 71351210 and 71351220. The survey is a preparatory engineering step supporting the planned 1,000 MW HVDC link that will replace the ageing Konti-Skan 1 and 2 poles. The procurement notice indicated the new connection was expected to be ready for operation in 2035.
