Global Port Services Shipping (GPSS), the Scotland-based marine logistics and vessel support arm of the Global group, is providing port-side services to Seaway7 for the Inch Cape offshore wind farm foundation installation campaign. The deep-water Port of Cromarty Firth in Invergordon serves as an intermediate base for Seaway7's heavy-lift vessel Seaway Alfa Lift, with multiple port calls totalling approximately 90 days across the contract. The first call took place in March 2026, with Seaway Alfa Lift spending four weeks at Invergordon before loading transition pieces at the Port of Leith for offshore installation; a second port call is scheduled for later in summer 2026. According to GPSS, the contract is supporting around 100 local jobs, with more than 100 personnel per day involved during the first port call (painters, welders, electricians and scaffolders). GPSS is using the Invergordon deep-water port as its project operations base for the duration of the contract, supported by other Global group companies and local subcontractors. The role is a sub-contract under Seaway7's existing foundation transportation and installation scope on Inch Cape (which covers 18 three-legged jacket foundations plus secondary installation works for the project's 54 monopile + 18 jacket fleet).
