TenneT awarded a framework agreement under its 2 GW programme to the GE Vernova‑Seatrium consortium for delivery of Dutch offshore grid connection projects, explicitly including IJmuiden Ver Beta, IJmuiden Ver Gamma and Nederwiek 2. The IJmuiden Ver Gamma offshore grid connection is the shared 2 GW HVDC hub to which the IJmuiden Ver Gamma-A and IJmuiden Ver Gamma-B 1 GW wind farm sites will connect, enabling export of power to shore at Maasvlakte. Within the context of TenneT’s 2 GW offshore converter station concept, the offshore platform comprises a topside installed on a steel jacket support structure. Consequently, the consortium’s responsibility for the IJmuiden Ver Gamma offshore grid connection includes delivery of the offshore platform package and, by extension, the jacket substructure that functions as the platform’s foundation. The role is linked to the construction phase of the offshore grid build-out and supports connection of future IJmuiden Ver generation to the Dutch high-voltage network. The framework nature of the award indicates a multi-project delivery model across several 2 GW connections, with standardisation and repeatability intended to accelerate build schedules and manage supply-chain interfaces for these large HVDC assets.
