On 6 July 2025, the Dutch Minister for Climate and Green Growth signed Kavelbesluit kavel Gamma-B windenergiegebied IJmuiden Ver under the Offshore Wind Energy Act (Wet windenergie op zee), formally designating kavel Gamma-B in the IJmuiden Ver wind energy zone as the seabed location for an offshore wind farm. The decision was published in the Staatscourant on 15 August 2025 as Stcrt. 2025, 26779. The Kavelbesluit is the Dutch legal instrument under the Wet windenergie op zee (effective 1 July 2015) that formally designates a specific seabed plot for offshore wind use, establishing the basis for the subsequent tender. Kavel Gamma-B forms part of the wider IJmuiden Ver build-out (kavels Alpha, Beta, Gamma-A, Gamma-B) located approximately 60 km off the Dutch North Sea coast, which together target approximately 6 GW of new offshore wind capacity, connected via four 2 GW HVDC links to onshore converter stations operated by TenneT.
