NjordIC secured a contract to provide unexploded ordnance (UXO) consultancy services for the Zeevonk Offshore Wind Farm (IJmuiden Ver Beta) in the Dutch North Sea. Zeevonk is the Vattenfall–Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners joint venture developing the 2 GW project, which was later planned to be delivered in two phases with 1 GW targeted for 2029 and full build-out targeted for 2032. NjordIC’s scope covered specialist UXO risk-management support to enable safe offshore construction. The work included interpretation of geophysical survey data to support UXO risk assessment, as well as supervision and support during UXO identification and clearance activities. The scope also included onshore advisory services to the project team and the provision of ALARP (As Low As Reasonably Practicable) certification, supporting evidence that UXO risks were reduced to an acceptable level. The contract was framed around compliance with Dutch legislation and project safety requirements, helping Zeevonk manage UXO risks across survey-to-clearance decision-making and execution oversight. The services were aimed at supporting construction readiness by ensuring robust UXO processes and documentation were in place ahead of intrusive seabed works and installation activities.
