On 11 June 2024, the Dutch Minister for Climate and Energy, via the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO), granted Noordzeker (a consortium of SSE Renewables, ABP and APG) the permit to build, operate and decommission the 2 GW IJmuiden Ver Wind Farm Site Alpha; this site permit, awarded following a competitive tender, became irrevocable on 25 July 2024.
