Transmission system operator TenneT and the Noordzeker consortium of ABP, APG and SSE Renewables signed a Realisation Agreement for the 2 GW IJmuiden Ver Alpha offshore wind farm’s Dutch offshore grid connection. The agreement, concluded in early February 2025, enables development and construction of the 2 GW HVDC connection that will bring power ashore at Borssele, convert it to AC at a converter station, and feed it into the Dutch high-voltage grid, with TenneT’s offshore grid connection planned to be operational by the end of 2029.
