Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy was selected by Vattenfall as the wind turbine supplier for the Hollandse Kust Zuid (HKZ) offshore wind farm zone in the Netherlands. The agreement covered the supply of Siemens Gamesa’s Direct Drive offshore turbine platform for HKZ, with reporting indicating an order size of around 140 turbines and an upgraded configuration capable of reaching up to 11 MW under certain site conditions. The turbine package was intended to support delivery of the subsidy-free 1.5 GW-class wind farm, with the turbine model referenced in the sources as SG DD-193 / SG 10.0-193 Direct Drive variants and later project communications describing SG 11.0-200 Direct Drive turbines. The contract was described as an extension of a prior turbine supply agreement, expanding the scope to include HKZ 1&2 in addition to HKZ 3&4. For database quantity purposes, this role is captured as turbine supply for the full Hollandse Kust Zuid project (139 turbines installed). The sources framed the selection as the outcome of a competitive tendering process, with installation planned for the main construction window leading up to full commissioning of the wind farm.
