Deutsche Windtechnik signed an inspection and maintenance agreement covering the Hollandse Kust Zuid offshore wind farm in the Netherlands. The appointment formed part of a set of four Dutch offshore wind farm service deals signed in Q1 2021, and was described as supporting the client during the construction phase of the project. For Hollandse Kust Zuid, Deutsche Windtechnik’s scope included inspection and maintenance activities for turbine foundations, specifically the monopiles and transition pieces. The article stated that the scope also covered substation assets (both internal and external), but the foundation-related scope centered on the inside of wind turbine generator (WTG) foundations, where inspection and maintenance work is typically performed to ensure structural integrity, safety compliance, and readiness for remedial works during build-out. According to the report, work under the Hollandse Kust Zuid agreement was scheduled to start in July 2021 and was expected to run for around 18 months. The contract was positioned as part of a continuing service relationship between Deutsche Windtechnik and European utilities including Vattenfall, and was supported from the company’s operational base in IJmuiden for offshore logistics and technician mobilisation.
