Hollandse Kust Zuid achieved first power in August 2022, when the first installed turbines, still in their testing phase, began exporting electricity via an offshore transformer station into the Dutch grid. By this time 36 turbines had been installed and the project, developed and owned by Vattenfall, BASF and Allianz, became the first subsidy-free offshore wind farm to reach this operational milestone.
