SolarDuck collaborated with RWE on an offshore technology demonstration within the OranjeWind (Hollandse Kust West VII) offshore wind project in the Netherlands. The collaboration focused on developing an offshore demonstration floating solar farm intended to support innovation and accelerate the commercial application of new offshore technologies in an operational environment. The floating solar demonstrator was positioned in the project narrative as a solution to enable more efficient use of ocean space by combining offshore wind development with offshore floating solar technology. SolarDuck was identified as a Dutch-Norwegian company specialising in offshore floating solar solutions, and its role was linked explicitly to RWE’s initiative to develop this demonstrator as part of OranjeWind’s broader system integration and innovation programme. This role related to the development and demonstration phase rather than the main wind farm component supply or installation packages. The source did not disclose a contract value, detailed technical specifications, timeline beyond being “currently” under development, or the scale (MW/area) of the floating solar installation.
