Jan De Nul Group was engaged to provide offshore installation capability for RWE’s Hollandse Kust West VII/OranjeWind project in the Netherlands, supporting the transport and installation of both foundations and wind turbines. RWE’s long-term agreement with Jan De Nul secured access to two next-generation installation vessels and associated services in a tight installation market. The contracted vessels were the floating heavy lift vessel Les Alizés (configured for transport, lifting and installation of large wind turbine foundations) and the jack-up wind turbine installation vessel Voltaire. The long-term charter arrangement covered exclusive, multi-year access to these assets, with Voltaire chartered for more than four years from 2027 onwards and Les Alizés for more than five years. The agreement was supported by a service framework under which Jan De Nul would provide in-house and market solutions to support and perform installation campaigns for RWE’s offshore wind projects. Project reporting for OranjeWind subsequently specified that Jan De Nul would handle the transport and installation of the project’s monopile foundations and the installation of the wind turbines, using Les Alizés and Voltaire. This scope is part of the construction phase leading into the planned offshore construction start in 2026 and turbine installation activities targeted for 2027.
