Sif Holding was selected by Ecowende to manufacture and supply the project’s turbine foundations for Hollandse Kust (west) Site VI, the 760 MW offshore wind farm being developed approximately 53 kilometres off the Dutch coast near IJmuiden. Under the final contract announced in December 2023, Sif’s scope covered the fabrication of 52 extended, transition piece-less (TP-less) monopile foundations for the wind farm. The monopiles were specified as an “extended monopile” concept without transition pieces, and Sif’s scope also included the delivery of secondary steel components for each foundation. The secondary steel scope referenced items such as boat landings, ladders, and access and internal platforms, which in a TP-less design are connected to the monopile after installation offshore. The contract was firmed for production during 2025 and was linked to Ecowende’s earlier commitment to support Sif’s Rotterdam manufacturing expansion through an Advance Factory Payment. The foundations were also described as being designed to support low-noise installation methods and the integration of wildlife detection and monitoring devices above and below the waterline, aligning with Ecowende’s nature-inclusive approach for the wind farm’s construction and operations.
