Offshore construction at Ecowende’s 760MW Hollandse Kust West wind farm (site VI) began on 24 September 2025 with the start of scour protection works at the project site in the Dutch North Sea. The milestone marks the commencement of offshore operations for the project. Van Oord has mobilised its subsea rock installation vessels Nordnes and Bravenes to install scour protection around the monopile foundations. The scour protection is designed not only to stabilise the seabed and prevent erosion from currents and waves, but has been specifically redesigned to optimise marine biodiversity, using varied stone gradings and layouts to create habitat and shelter for marine species.
