On 15 May 2026, TKF (Twentsche Kabelfabriek) loaded out the final batch of inter-array cables for the 760 MW Hollandse Kust West VI (Ecowende) offshore wind farm onto Van Oord's cable-laying vessel Nexus at Eemshaven, completing TKF's manufacturing scope on the project. Under the original contract TKF was responsible for the development, production and delivery of inter-array cables and connectivity solutions for the 52 Vestas V236-15.0 MW turbines feeding into the TenneT offshore substation. TKF noted via social media that the cables have a reduced environmental footprint, as they do not contain lead or bitumen — aligning with the Ecowende JV's (Shell / Eneco / Chubu Electric Power) positioning of Hollandse Kust West VI as "the most ecological wind farm yet". The final load-out follows the start of inter-array cable installation in April 2026 (already in DB as a separate event), and concludes the cable-supply side of the project ahead of full commissioning. The 760 MW project, located approximately 53 km off the Dutch coast near IJmuiden, is expected to be operational by the end of 2026 and to supply roughly 3 per cent of the Netherlands' current electricity demand.
