The Equans–Smulders joint venture installed the topside of TenneT's 700 MW Hollandse Kust (noord) offshore substation onto its pre-installed jacket foundation in October 2022, marking the heavy-lift completion of the offshore transformer platform that collects 66 kV power from the CrossWind wind farm and steps it up to 220 kV for export to shore. The topside installation campaign was followed by offshore hook-up activities, leading to grid-ready certification on 31 March 2023 and TenneT taking over the completed platform on 1 June 2023.
