Sif was contracted by Van Oord to fabricate and supply the TP-less monopile foundations for the Hollandse Kust Noord offshore wind project in the Netherlands. The order covered 70 TP-less monopile foundations, i.e., monopile primary structures designed to support the project’s Siemens Gamesa 11 MW-class wind turbines without separate transition pieces. The scope described for Sif focused on manufacturing and delivery of the monopiles and associated project logistics for storage and handover. Sif stated it would manufacture the 70 monopile foundations and store them at its Maasvlakte2 facility in Rotterdam during the 2022–2023 period, aligning production and marshalling with the offshore installation campaign. The contract was reported as being included in Sif’s orderbook during an earlier phase of exclusive negotiation before being formally announced. The engagement positioned Sif as a key Dutch steel fabrication supplier for the project’s foundation package, supplying the main structural elements that were subsequently installed offshore by the BoP contractor and its installation partners. No contract value was disclosed in the cited announcement. The project context provided alongside the award described Hollandse Kust Noord as a 759 MW offshore wind farm located around 18.5 kilometres off the Dutch west coast and developed by the CrossWind consortium (Shell and Eneco), with an anticipated operational timeframe of 2023 in the original construction schedule.
