DEME was engaged by Van Oord to support offshore installation of the monopile foundations at the Hollandse Kust Noord offshore wind farm in the Dutch North Sea. The engagement was described as a subcontracted installation scope within Van Oord’s wider Balance of Plant responsibilities for CrossWind, with DEME providing a jack-up installation vessel to execute the monopile installation campaign. According to the cited project updates, Van Oord deployed DEME’s jack-up vessel Innovation to install the TP-less monopile foundations. This work formed part of the offshore construction programme that began with the first installed monopile in October 2022 and culminated in completion of the full set of foundations by early 2023, ahead of subsequent wind turbine installation and inter-array cable works. The monopiles installed under this scope were produced by Sif Group and transported offshore for installation at the project site approximately 18.5 kilometres off the coast near Egmond aan Zee. DEME’s role, as stated, related specifically to the heavy-lift jack-up vessel capacity and installation execution needed to drive and place the monopile primary structures safely and efficiently in the prevailing North Sea conditions. No separate contract value, contract date, or additional sub-scopes (such as secondary steel or scour protection) were disclosed for DEME in the cited sources; the available information links DEME directly to the monopile installation scope performed using Innovation on behalf of Van Oord.
