ABL Group was appointed by CrossWind to provide Marine Warranty Survey (MWS) services for the Hollandse Kust Noord (HKN) offshore wind farm in the Dutch North Sea. The appointment covered independent assurance activities associated with the offshore transportation and installation (T&I) of the project’s wind turbine generators, supporting the safe execution of heavy-lift and marine operations during construction. Within the MWS scope, ABL Group’s role was to act as an independent technical reviewer and verifier for key marine operations and critical procedures related to the wind turbine T&I campaign. This typically includes review and acceptance of method statements and marine operation plans, assessment of vessel suitability and operational readiness for intended lifts and transports, and verification that operational risks and environmental limits are properly managed in line with project requirements. The services supported CrossWind’s delivery of the 759 MW Hollandse Kust Noord wind farm located approximately 18.5 km off Egmond aan Zee, which comprises 69 Siemens Gamesa SG 11.0-200 DD turbines. The MWS engagement contributed to construction-stage governance by providing structured, third-party technical oversight for marine activities where procedural compliance and risk control are essential to protecting personnel, assets, and schedule.
