In 2019, Shell acquired French floating offshore wind developer EOLFI, thereby taking over EOLFI’s equity stake and role in the Groix & Belle-Île floating wind pilot consortium alongside partners CGN (China General Nuclear Power Group) and Caisse des dépôts et consignations (Banque des Territoires). Subsequent reports on the project’s cancellation in 2022 describe Shell as having joined the project through this acquisition.
