On 16 November 2022, Shell and its consortium partners Banque des Territoires and China General Nuclear (CGN) announced they were cancelling the 28.5 MW Groix & Belle-Île floating pilot wind farm, withdrawing from the project due to significantly worsened economic conditions, including inflation, cost escalation, and severe supply chain constraints that created technical, commercial and financial challenges undermining the project’s viability.
